Guide Claw Installation

GRP and TP Series

You Will Need:

Large pipe wrench

Thread locking compound

Hex wrench as indicated below

Guide claw Pump Type Set Screw Hex Wrench size

2” discharge TP30-49 & GRP16-41 8mm X 1.25 4mm

2 ½” discharge TP50 8mm X 1.25 4mm

3” discharge TP53 & TP70 10mm X 1.5 5mm

Inspect threads of discharge and guide claw for excess paint, foreign material or damage;

clean threads if necessary.

Apply thread locking compound such as Blue #242 to threaded discharge of pump.

Thread guide claw onto the pump discharge all the way until the flange is snug and the

guide ears are in the horizontal position. Pump must sit upright when installed onto base,

so claw may need to be unthreaded slightly to achieve proper orientation.

Remove set screw from guide claw, apply thread locking compound to the set screw.

Reinstall and tighten set screw. Tighten to 5 ft. lbs. for 8mm screw and 13 ft. lbs. for 10mm

screw.
